Mythica Lead Producer, Scott Cooper, has been interviewed at Mythica Realms. Here's part of the conversation:
Question: 5. Environment: In many MMORPG's we see weather & day systems; rain, fog, sunshine, night fall etc. In all games we currently do not see these affects causing the alteration of NPC actions. For example, if it rains shop keepers scurry into their buildings vs an open market; certain monsters are nocturnal and will only be found out at night, etc; monsters scurry away from burning trees or flee when day breaks. Are their plans in Mythica to make items react to their environment? via – email

Answer: We certainly want to have NPC’s react to their environment. Private Realms allow us to have NPC’s that react to player actions in ways that we couldn’t in public spaces. An example we showed at E3 was the greeter who meets the players as they enter the private space and leads them to where the action is. There was also the Human captain who leads his men into battle for you if you help him defend against a Corrupted attack first.

Our faction system will also set up situations where you have mobs fighting each other. You can ignore and watch, choose to help one side or the other, or slaughter them all.
