NW Vault has posted another review of a persistent world. This time The Champions of Vydor has fallen under the magnifying glass. This server is a fun place to be, even solo. It offers plenty of entertainment, variety and interesting encounters. It has implemented some radical ideas, such as substance addictions, while some may not find this entertaining; I find that although NWN is a fantasy setting, the lives of the people within that world would have weaknesses. If we can have NPC's who are so poor they walk about in rags, starving children and thieves who will kill you for the few gold in your pocket, why not addictions? While I did not attempt to dabble with this aspect of the world, the choice was there, and I did not find it offensive for being so. If you are looking for a fun time, interesting quests, in a world where it does not really matter if many players are on or not, then Champions Of Vydor is the place to have a look at. I do however hope that this review garners enough interest in this world that players decide to go and have a look, for I do think that this server deserves a large and dedicated player base. As we all know, the whole point of a PW is to be with other players and interact while having fun. Sporting a respectable score of 7/10, you can read the rest of the review at NW Vault. |
