eToychest has posted a review of BioWare's 'Jade Empire'. Despite the tone of the intro, the score is still 90%:
In the Merriam-Webster dictionary, repetition is defined as "the act or an instance of repeating or being repeated." It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it is certainly an avenue for entertainment that has been explored with much fervor in recent years, especially in the world of video games. BioWare is a great developer when it comes to RPGs. It is a company that could easily be considered a master of the genre, due especially to its last Xbox release, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The problem is that any title it releases on the same console will draw comparison to KOTOR. Bioware's latest game is no exception, and—for better or worse—Jade Empire does copy a lot of things from KOTOR. Such recycling is certainly acceptable, but it is ultimately marred by a combat system that ends up being very repetitive after a short time, even though it attempts to be unique.
