Bastards, All of 'Em
This kind of dastardly attitude is prevalent throughout The Bard's Tale. Quite frankly, everyone you meet is a real bastard. Even the most genuine damsel in distress has some selfish motive underlying her request. You are gonna get messed with a lot. I mean, a lot. People will try and swindle you, bully you, they will lie and cheat and do whatever they have to in order to get their way. And when you do help them, often they complain about what you've done. It's like a world full of obnoxious teenagers.
