Anarchy Online Vault has posted an interview with Thomas "Cz" Johnsen, Community Manager for Anarchy Online, about AO: Shadowlands, the upcoming expansion. In this bit, he talks about how boosting the new special abilities will work:
Q: With the information from the recent dev chat regarding team work for boosting some of the new special abilites, any clues as to how this will work?

A: We are trying to make good co-operation in the group into a factor that can give the team additional powers (on top of good cooperation). In SL there will be introduced new specials as part of the "Perk" System. Some of these "specials" will be attacks. The most powerful of these attacks will have additional requirements, some may have that the monster needs to be mezzed, rooted, etc etc. But some will have requirements that will make them unable (or the attack will not be as powerful as it could have been) to perform that special, until a certain other special (thats unique for another profession) is done first. So make sure you have a versatile of professions in your group =)
