A Dragon Empires Interview at RPGRadar talks to Pete Tyson of Codemasters about their MMORPG. I'd like to share this snip with you:
RPGRadar: Most Online RPG's tend to have a lacking storyline, could this possibly end with Dragon Empires? Perhaps you can give us some insight on it's story?

Peter Tyson: Story is always hard to build into a MMORPG. If you don't have any, people complain, have too much and people say you might as well make a single player game. I think the trick is to have a global story that can involve everyone. For starters our game history will never be 100% complete and available to players. Players will have to dig around on the site and in the game to find all of the historical gems and links, piecing the story together themselves. Once the game goes live we hope to have an ongoing story that the GMs and our writer will manage and continue through new quests introduced into the game as well as GM events.
