This week's developer blog focuses on the sound being created for Titan Quest. Scott Morton, lead audio developer for Iron Lore, spotlights the difficulties creating the right sounds and music to fit the look and feel of the game.
Writing the music for Titan Quest has proven to be quite a challenging exercise as well. Take several different historical cultures; extract musical elements from them; and try to combine all of those different elements into a cohesive whole that holds the score together, while still keeping each individual region unique in its sound. It's a great experience for any composer, I think, to be forced to work within certain constraints and still attempt to come out with an effective and dramatic result.
