While Champions of Norrath does use an existing game as its basis -- its technology has grown out of the pioneering PS2 action RPG Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance -- it's one that began its life on the PS2, not the PC, and caters to the tastes of console gamers extremely well. Offering online and offline single and multiplayer modes, Champions of Norrath is SOE's first game with offline capability and the PS2's first Phantasy Star Online-style dungeon hack.
