If you've never heard of The Lord of the Creatures, it's because our only other newsbit appeared a year ago almost to the day. Founded by former 'Commandos' developers, Arvirago's mysterious project seems to have both an offline and online component but we don't know much more. A recent update has added some pretty attractive screenshots. Here's the description of the game:
“The Lord of the Creatures” is the title of the game that Arvirago Entertainment is now developing. In a fantasy universe, the player will be immersed in an epic adventure, which takes place in imaginary worlds inhabited by unbelievable creatures. The player will be able to confront on his own the challenges of the universe of “The Lord of the Creatures”, or will be able to interact online with other players around the world. All the geographic richness of the worlds of “The Lord of the Creatures” is represented with a next generation graphics engine created by Arvirago exclusively for this project. The new graphic engine includes everything necessary to make “The Lord of the Creatures” a visual experience of pictorial beauty, with worlds and creatures of a realism and expressiveness without precedent. Developed using the latest technology available, “The Lord of the Creatures” features special effects like volumetric shadows generated using stencil buffer, bump mapping, anti-aliasing, vertex and pixel shaders, etc...
