A new review of Icewind Dale 2 has been posted at Gaming Invasion. This is the least favorable one to my knowledge, with a rating of just 60/100. This is why they didn't like it too much:
The main problem with IWD2 is it feels like an expansion instead of a full game because of its content. The graphics aren’t new and the combat isn’t new, yet Black Isle and Interplay put this out the stores as if it were a brand new game. Only changes and improvements in the game are the music, dialog system, rules, and party creation, which don’t even make up for the use of an obviously outdated engine. Icewind Dale 2 would’ve been probably a great game if they caught up in times instead of holding on with their already deceased engine they’ve been holding on for too long.
