RPGVault have published their own review of FFXI. While there doesn't seem to be any score, it is rather positive in general. They tag it as an examination of the game based on 30 levels of experience of play. Here's a snippet:

Solo play is possible up until level 20 for most professions, but after that point, it grows less viable to hunt for experience on your own. Grouping becomes the main focus, and this is an aspect that is done extremely well. Classes in Final Fantasy XI are well balanced and focused to operate most successfully within a team setting, as nearly all of them concentrate on a specialty that is most valuable when combined with others. For example, Paladins are highly defensive with little offense, Dark Knights are extremely offensive with weak defense, and magic users such as Black Mages should cast their powerful spells from a distance since they cannot withstand direct melee attacks. Team play is further enhanced by the Skill Chain and Magic Burst systems that allow players in a group to deal significantly more damage when they perform certain melee or magic attacks in succession.

It's strange though because I thought that one weak spot for FFXI actually was grouping... Oh well! Read the whole review at RPGVault.
