NWNHaven has started a feature, putting mods for Neverwinter Nights into the spotlight. The first article is about Dragonlance Online. Here's what this mod is about:
Our persistent world will start before the War of the Lance, with no gods/clerics whatsoever, and will somewhat stick to the storyline set in the books. However, we will slowly deviate from it. Like, for example, the Everman could be caught by the Dragonarmies and Takhisis might enter Krynn earlier than expected before the heroes can intervene. We have no qualms with changing history so players feel their actions do have an effect on the world.
The way we're organizing is that we have someone in charge of the main storyline. He'll be organizing all the main storylines at the moment and creating a flowchart of events, where each event's result has an effect on the overall storyline. So, he'd distribute the events to willing DMs and players will in fact be able to dictate what happens by their successful or unsuccesful completion of events/missions' goals. I'm going to love seeing
it in action. |
