Gomputer Games has posted up a review of Funatics' unusual RPG/Adventure/Action mix Zanzarah: The Hidden Portal, complemented with a whooping 108 screenshots. They were pretty impressed with it, giving it a final score of 92%. Here is a bit from the introduction:
In a reality that keeps assaulting us with every day problems, any human being needs to escape in an imaginary world made out of dreams or stories. If dreams don't offer us to many surprises which usually consist of unordered facts on a key chain, stories have an epic string of actions that unfolds gradually. In both situations our contribution is insignificant. This is why computer games, nothing else than a more advanced form of story, try to make us interact with a fictional universe whose life was until then independent of ours. The credibility of this imaginary world is given especially by the atmosphere surrounding the player which is also one of the key elements that make a game remembered by history. This category includes Zanzarah: The Hidden Portal which is this year's revelation. |
