RPGVault has written some first impressions of Mimesis Online. A detailed two page article with a somewhat positive conclusion:
Overall, my first impressions of Mimesis Online are mixed. On one hand, the game is currently lacking a fair bit of of content and has enough bugs, albeit not many game-stoppers, to feel like a beta. On the other, this vast, dark and wonderfully unique world spawned from the creative minds at Tannhauser Gate is rife with potential, especially if the team can soon achieve a more complete implementation of its planned content. The game is also backed by excellent fiction on the official site, but the in-game plots and story arcs mentioned by the developers have yet to take hold within the game to any significant degree. The most enjoyable and complete gameplay aspect thus far is the creature combat and the acquisition of better weapons and armor. And while it is easy to see that Mimesis Online is a project in progress, I would certainly recommend taking the free trial in order to explore the land of Gotrath, to see its unique vision and excellent potential, and to judge for yourself if it's presently a world you'd like to experience further. |
