Gamerifts have an interview up with Peter Tyson, Community Liaison Manager of Dragon Empires. Here's something from it:Rokin: PvP aspects of DE is being handled in an interesting way, which may seen confusing to the casual observer. How exactly is PvP expected to work?
Peter: Yes, it is a little confusing! Basically we have roles which players can slip in and out of. Want to go raid the enemy empire? Cross the border and raise hell. You're now an outlaw. Want to defend against raiders? Go talk to the local NPC and sign up for some bounty hunting for a while. Want to make experience points and gold when you trade goods? Get a contract to move resources between cities. You'll be open to attack from outlaws though, so watch out. Then there are the clan battles. Fight an enemy clan in the arena we call the Blood Circus whenever you chose or in defense of your town.
We expect a lot of people to get involved with PvP to varying degrees. PvP is important as it builds your guild's status, however, it's not a requirement of the game and we do allow people to never take part if they wish. |
