Thanks to Assassin from Computer Games Online for letting us know that they have posted a review of 'Lionheart' today. Rating: 66%.
Most of the locations were drawn with great care but the 2D landscape is static with very few animations. This aspect can be noticed in all the characters of the game also, being no change from the demo to the final version in this area. As you can see from the screenshots, Lionheart is a game where darkness reigns, being interrupted just by the effects of the spells. When I entered the game a friend who was watching asked me if I played a beta version because besides brightness there is nothing you can set, neither the level of detail, nor the resolution which is fixed at 800x600. You can modify it if you play a little with the lionheart.cfg file but you'll get visual bugs. It didn't matter for me playing a 2003 game which looks pretty much like a 2000 one but the lack of some settings made me doubt the capabilities of the Velocity engine, even if on the second CD there is a demo version of Ricochet, some form of Arkanoid with interesting features.
