Warcry's Kichigai Saru presents this very promising, "hands-on" preview for the upcoming Gas Powered Games' epic, Dungeon Siege 2...

Overall, I have got to say, this game will be awesome. You can play solo if you want, or you can start a team. I had four members in my team before I finished, and I’ve only just started the game, relatively speaking. The character control for the rest of the party is simple enough and doesn’t take away from the game play. They’re more like the side ships you get in Galaga, where you aim from your main ship, but they’re shooting at the same time, helping to do more damage. With the variety of teammates you get, and the fact that you can control any of them, you can start as a fighter, but decide to try out magery, and start playing as one of your teammates for a bit. The graphics, though not incredible, are still pleasing to the eye, and even the smallest monsters make their presence known through some unique design. The story is still in its earliest stages, but in only a few hours, I was a mercenary, then I was a vigilante, then I was just a homesick boy trying to get back. I think by the end it will offer some serious story for the serious RPer. But this will by no means detract from the love of many: loot. The magic selection was grand, amulets drop like leaves in October. Some were strong, some were decorative, but whatever they did, you could always sell them and build your coffers. It’s slated to be released in fall of 2005, so keep your eyes and ears open.
