With the 1999 retail it became the PC standard for subscription gaming, largly due to it's only competition was UO and Lineage. Starting to decline in users after 2003, many keep wondering how $oE could let such a property decline to it's present state. But for a foundation hack/slash/cast game EQ is a good starting place and deserves respect. Do not let your dissatisfation with $oE's incompetence shade your opinion of EQ. Solid 8.
