In their ongoing E3 coverage, Gamespot has written an article about City of Heroes. Once again, here's a snippet:
The accumulation of treasure found in most games is swapped for fame, wealth, and experience, which help heroes gain access to more difficult missions, additional super powers, and such amenities as an established base, and useful equipment. For example, heroes will be able to travel to more dangerous zones when their fame level allows them access, as opposed to the fledgling hero-types who would be at too much risk. Wealth can also pay for important goods which nearly every superhero can make use of, such as iron plating or even diamond weave for their costume. |
