Gamesdomain has a first look< at Deus Ex for PS2. Here's something about changes from the PC version:
Another reassuring point for console gamers is the way that Spector and the development team have made sure they improve on the original to make it side-step the trap of being just another PC cash-in knock off by making the most improved hardware. The graphics are clean and crisp, despite their naturally dark nature, with motion-captured animations and more polygons and detailed textures. They even have ears! Yes, that's right! Fully modelled ears. While we're on that aural subject, the game's sound benefits from Digital Dolby 5.1, while the theme music has been re-recorded using a full orchestra to make it the full filmic experience in your bedroom. Perhaps more importantly, the control interface has been streamlined so that items and augmentations can all be accessed from a push of a button, and the analogue stick allows sneaking, walking and running with ease. There should be plenty in Deus Ex to keep gamers going too, with over 100 maps set around New York, Paris and Hong Kong to get through, 20 to 30 hours of gameplay and all while providing the non-compromising freedom that made games like GTA3 so great. |
