They are quite positive about the game, giving a final score of 87%. Their final statement: Overall Throne of Darkness’s prerendered 2d characters are good looking, smoothly animated and the move about a lot. The scenery is something else to be desired, not well detailed and sometimes hard to see enemies. The characters details will change such as when you give them different types of armor, and weapons, but don’t go into great detail such as masks, gloves, and helmets. The audio quality is good with Japanese voiceovers to the sounds of battle being fought out. The best feature is the almost non-existent loading time which keeps the game running smoothly, and uninterrupted. Throne of Darkness is an overall game that you will get addicted to, despite some useless features and some rough design elements. The graphics, constant action, and discovery of awesome weapons will keep the addiction going, and the challenge of the quests will keep you occupied, for what is an enjoyable hack-and-slash RPG.
