Gamers Uplink has reviewed Dark Age of Camelot and now wins a fruit basket for the 100th preview of this game on the web *g*). Nevertheless, it's a nice summary and easy reading. Here's something about death in the game:
One hot topic on any MMORPG is death. DAoC handles death similar to Asheron's Call, in that there is a penalty but it does not affect your level. You cannot lose levels as a result of dying, like in Everquest. Instead, after level 5, you lose experience and hit points. You can regain half of your experience loss by visiting your grave, which they have placed at the location you died, or being resurrected by a PC Cleric, Priest or Druid - in which case all your constitution points are also restored. The other half of your experience is forever lost. If no fellow player is available to restore you to life, you can also regain your constitution points by purchasing them from an NPC Cleric. |
