RPGDot Game Rating Machine

Scar has rated the following games:

Alliance of Heroes: 5/10 points

Rated this just because it didn't deserve to be sitting at #1.

Baldur's Gate: 10/10 points

Had that little extra something that moves it ahead of its sequel... Highly immersive and very fun.

Baldur's Gate 2 - Shadows of Amn: 9/10 points

A huge, very fun game. Most that have major issues with BG2 are simply nitpicking...

Darklands: 9/10 points

Bugginess is the only thing to keep this game from a 10. Great game, one of the best. I agree with many of the others, a remake would be welcome.

Elder Scrolls 3 - Morrowind: 6/10 points

Excellent eye candy, average game. Balance was terrible, story was only fair, I found the original to be more fun...

Fallout - A Post Nuclear Adventure: 9/10 points

Original, well written, fun... a very good game.

Fallout 2: 5/10 points

Unfortuantely what made Fallout great was taken to the absurd in Fallout 2. The BIS guys that are hinting at a FO3, talk about looking back to FO1 when looking for inspiration... that should tell ya something about FO2...

Gothic: 5/10 points

Weak, not fun... somewhat immersive but scattered...

Gothic 2: 7/10 points

A better effort than the original but still has a ways to go, maybe the third time will be the charm...

Icewind Dale: 9/10 points

Not as story light as some here make it out to be. Highly linear, but linear is not necessarily bad. Very, very fun.

Icewind Dale 2: 9/10 points

A far better game than NWN or Morrowind could ever hope to be. Writing is far better, 3E implementation is better than either NWN or PoR2. Very fun. Only shortcoming is that the main plot feels disjointed at times...

Planescape: Torment: 5/10 points

Well written, but just not fun... Plays more like a "choose your adventure" book than a game... weak interface, limited options, etc... bottom line though is that it just isn't fun...

Ultima 7 - The Black Gate: 9/10 points

A classic... Has been done better since but not by many and not in every way.

Wizardry 1 - Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord: 10/10 points

To give this any less than a 10 would be a crime. The game that many so many more games possible.

Wizardry 8: 9/10 points

Deserved to be RPG of the Year... Some balance issues, but overall another great chapter, likely the last, in this classic series.
