Imperator was announced by Mythic Entertainment (Dark Age of Camelot) on June 26 (story). There still isn't much more info on the game than what could be gathered from the press release but thanks to HomeLan Fed's interview with Mark Jacobs (Mythic's President) there's some new stuff to talk about.
Here's a bit from the intro plus the opening question:There is no question that Mythic Entertainment created a huge success in last year's massively multiplayer RPG Dark Age of Camelot. Even though the development team is hard at work supporting the game and creating the first expansion, that doesn't mean that they aren't looking toward the future, and recently the company announced plans for Imperator, their next massively multiplayer game set in the far future where the Roman Empire never fell. HomeLAN got a chance to chat with Mythic's president Mark Jacobs as he talks as much as he can at this stage about Imperator.
HomeLAN - Why did Mythic Entertainment decide to begin design work on a new game at this point when it could just continue to work on and expand on Dark Age of Camelot?
Mark Jacobs - Everyone at Mythic, besides myself, is totally focused on DAoC and Shrouded Isles. Mythic obviously has a huge hit with DAoC, and like any successful company, we want to continue to grow and provide gaming fans with more of what they have come to expect. |
