Every now and then, I like to take a break from my endless number of first-person shooters, real-time strategy, and action games to play the games of the genre that made me first fall in love with video games back when Final Fantasy was first released for the Nintendo: RPGs. Since that time, I've seen many an RPG hit my desk over the last decade, some great beyond words, some good, and some that didn't deserve the CD(s) with which held the various bits and bytes that made it up. Games like Morrowind, the Fallout, Baldur's Gate, and Diablo series, even more fast-paced hack-and-slash games like Dungeon Siege have made me fall in love with the genre on repeated occasions.
