The big point is roleplay. This makes Illarion so good.
And it is in development, making continously steps forward.
To be honest, the description given here on this side contains also things, which aren't developed yet, but be planed for the future. |

This Game is one of the best Roleplay-Games i've ever seen. While other games bored me to hell because of lack of roleplay and people names like "masterkiller345" or sth. like that, Illarion is different. It is definitely worth a try if you love good roleplaying. 10 points from my side. |

I play this game for over 1 1/2 years now and it still doesn't get boring, simply because every player contributes to the story of the game.
Sitting at the campfire or in tavern with beer and wine, exploring the huge island or attending to the neverending quests.
This game is full of surprises and emotions and since the new client there are even more possibilities |

Illarion is the best online role playing game. It doesen't make RPG's stand for Hack and Slash games, it is the only TRUELY enforced RPG online, with a dedicated team of Admins and GM's and a Non-Profit Organization Registration. Illarion is always evolving, go check it out, and maybe learn some things about Roleplaying. |

Games are for wussies. Live Illarion. Seriously tho'? I love this game. Its the only game I can come back to time and time again and there's always something new to surprise me. I love the depth of the characters, the history the island has aquired over the years. I play for the character development and that is everywhere. I love you guys! |

I started the game in the year 2002 and can say, its a wonderful game.Roleplay, plots, adventures, storytelling, campfires and everything else, you will find it there. No other game is so great in Roleplay, even P&P have it hard against Illarion. |

The game has it's delightful moments, but all in all it seems rather boring.
As there are hardly more, than 5 people online at a time.
If there are interesting things to happen, they require an immense time of waiting and preparation.
Most of the time people won't do anything else, than standing around a campfire and talk for ages.
To enjoy that cosy moments it would be better to know and to be known in the community. So don't expect to run into open arms, when you start playing.
The players consider themselfes as a hardcore rpg community. What is rather unique in our our times. But it also means, that you will have to stick to very strict rules, and unwanted behaviour will be "social-punished".
That means, if you want a graphical chat, this game is the one for you. But anyway...i would hardly call it a "Game".
That Illarion got so very good marks from 28 players so long, i would explain by pointing out that this players are more less the overall active Illarion community...who likes there own game. (You see...not a lot people do PLAY it actually). |

There is great things to come, the next client will blow the current screenshots out of the water. This is the only game I have seen where players can interact on a DAILY basis with the gamemasters and developers, and most were/are players. I still play avidly after 2 years. |

Although it takes a while to settle down to the game, once you've gotten to know some people you will really start to enjoy the game. Since there is no set class system you are free to follow any path of life you choose: Baker by day, assassin by night. You choose. |

All one can say is "WOW"! I have been playing this game for nearly 3 years now and ever since then, the roleplaying only got better. As the game continues to grow, the experience of true roleplay will only increase. Live as an elf, dwarf, human, lizard man, or even a halfling and you'll see the world quite well! Come and immerse yourself into the world that is Illarion!

While it certainly could use some work in several areas, you must remember that the game is still in alpha stage, and that it is being updated frequently.
Illarion has a feel like no other game. player to player interaction is stressed severely. Roleplaying is required, and is enforced strictly; you must speak and act as if you were your character. Every game mechanic revolves around roleplaying.
Illarion is not for everyone, however. If you'd rather kill everything that moves, rather than compose tales of heroics, go play tibia. If you'd like to play in a game with thousands of players, as opposed to the charmingly modest amount of Illarion players, go play runescape.

I have played this game for more than 3+ years now. On and off. It is like a drug. You take it have your high for a long time then you need small " Breaks " Where you are cured... But in the end you come back to it crying cause of how much your life seems empty without it. But anyway without anymore drug referances...
This game is designed for the hardcore role player. While you may not be able to do many things with the actuall client. ( Not yet anyway UPDATE ON THE WAY WOOT! ) You can definetly try ANYTHING with the communitty. If you wanna be an assasin then try it. If your good it will all work out and everyone will play along with you. That's the beauty of it. Also for the nay sayers about being new.. It is true to a point. We dont always welcome newbies with the most enthusiasm but you must understand that we build our characters over years not in days and when a new person comes along and tries to do something they dont understand it becomes a bit wearing... So just bear with everyone and they will bear with you. So with that in mind come apply and get ready for the alter life you have always dreamed of... Troll's Bane awaits... |
