A dev diary from Mythic President, Mark Jacobs, can be found at the Imperator site:
Folks,

Another installment, and one in which I will focus on Crux Points, Germanicus and Einstein. Bonus points for anyone who already understands the connection between these three subjects!

Let's start with the idea of a Crux Point. Many people, Einstein among them, believe that there are certain points in history so important that even
a small change would have dramatic effects on the worlds timeline. We call those changes at those crucial points in history by the name "Crux Point Shifts." One of the key elements of the backstory of Imperator is that a number of Crux Point Shifts bring about a radically different world from the one that we are living in today. The first major CPS in our game begins with Romans by the name of Germanicus, Tiberius and Claudius (Im using the shortened versions of their official names for brevity's sake).
