RPGDot Game Rating Machine

sctvorp has rated the following games:

Albion: 8/10 points

Got it in a bargain bin quite a while after it came out. It was a fun game, cute graphics. Only problem was that a bug prevented my save game from loading, so never finished it.

Baldur's Gate 2 - Shadows of Amn: 9/10 points

Great game, nice story, very long. Using an aging engine, Bioware still manages to turn out a very good game. I liked Throne of Bhaal better though, because of the great special high level abilities. Reason this game did not recieve a 10 is because some parts are not so memorable.

Betrayal at Krondor: 8/10 points

It was a great game, with a great storyline. It was a bit too hard at times, but the characters are unforgettable. I cant rate it too high because i was young when i played it, and i dont think it is as good as Torment, Fallout, and Daggerfall.

Blade of Darkness: 7/10 points

Ill agree with everyone else on a 7. Some fun and engrossing combat, makes me feel skillful when i kill an orc or something. I played as the barbarian, would have played it with a different character if the storyline were different, but it wasnt, so bleah.

Deus Ex: 9/10 points

It had rpg elements, but i never really thought of it as an RPG. You just cant make a true rpg with a 3dfps engine (Unreal). However it was very intruiging and fun. The game was too dark though, i dont remember any sunshine really, which kinda brings down my mood.

Dungeon Siege: 7/10 points

I bought this cuz i needed something to play before Morrowind came out. Well its fun, still play it on and off. The original game kinda blows, but with the user created MODs, this game is a lot more fun. I got this ulimited summons, its real fun running around w/ 4 scorpions. Yeha some of u think its cheating, but like i care, whatever makes this game fun.

Elder Scrolls 2 - Daggerfall: 10/10 points

Although many claim it was buggy, i ran into very few with my pentium 120mhz at the time. I loved this game, it was so big, not even the MMORPGs come close to its size today. The game had so much stuff to do and explore it was mind boggling. I must have created an excess of over 30 characters. I also loved the combat system, and there were different swipes depending on the way you swing your mouse, sometimes i wish games today still did that instead of the strafe-left attack crap. I never did finish the game's storyline, but I never cared either. Also the city of Daggerfall at night is still one of the scariest moments in all games i've ever played. Vengance! Bring on Morrowind!

EverQuest: 5/10 points

This game ruined my life! But other than that, it was frustrating. The classes are not balanced, what they did was cripple all the classes so that u have to work together to kill anything. Its ironic that a Ranger decked out with short sword of moridin and dragoon dirk, full banded and other magical items, cannot kill a coyote of the same level. Also it costs money, which sucks. They also recently did a rate hike.

Fallout 2: 9/10 points

Everything fallout had, and more! Maybe a bit too much however. Storyline was okay, but will never come close to the original. A bit too many pop culture references aswell. I wish i could have played Fallout1 with the fallout2 enhanced engine =).

Gothic: 10/10 points

Gothic was one of the best. Awesome graphics, great engine. Only bad part was the ending, but ohter than that, a truly memorable experience.

Might & Magic 6 - The Mandate of Heaven: 7/10 points

I was really engrossed in this game for a while. But eventually it was just too long and I lost interest. The storyline also seemed too massive to complete. I guess i just dont like party based RPGs too much.

Planescape: Torment: 10/10 points

I must say, the best story of any rpg I've ever played, and i've played almost all of em (since the 90s). This game also makes the Infinity Engine really shine, bigger characters and a better interface. I agree with some of the other scores saying how they were sad when the game ended, i was too. The whole game is just awesome.

Pool of Radiance: 1/10 points

played demo, boring, slow, sucky, stupid, no customization. Why isnt this stupid game in the bargain bin yet? I can't believe they sell this crap for 50 dollars still.

Quest for Glory 1 - So You Want to be a Hero?: 9/10 points

The remake was very good. Never played the original. It was fun. I could throw rocks at the ground and get stronger! hah. And i agree that Sierra sucks now.

Realm: 6/10 points

Everybody talks about UO being the first, but it wasnt. The Realm was around a long time ago. (Well if u wanna get technical, MUDs were the first) It hasnt changed too much since the first days. I recently played on a bunch of 30 day trials and the game is no different. They did add new races and such. It is amazingly still going today for the same monthly rate that most MMORPGs charge. I imagine sierra still makes some bank off this forgotten game. Its not the most fun game out there, but it has a legacy.

Thief - The Dark Project: 1/10 points

wtf, this is NOT an rpg. I dunno what you people are smoking.

Wizardry 8: 6/10 points

Okay graphics and a weird storyline. What i hate most about this game is how hard it is. I got stuck in one area cuz the game kept generating more monsters, and i couldn't get out no matter what i tried. Fighting against 20+ monsters is not easy, nor fun. If game didnt spawn monsters constantly (which isnt realistic), and was not so difficult, I would like this game a lot better.
