RPG Vault's Jonric takes a brief look at Mass Effect from E3:The writing team at BioWare is exceptionally skilled at creating memorable personalities and sweeping, epic stories. In the latter regard, the cosmos provides a truly fitting stage in which to do so. Furthermore, we're told the narrative will require making complex decisions that will test your moral fiber because the options and likely consequences aren't necessarily black and white. To help round out the adventure, there will also be numerous planets you may choose to explore, and many optional quests you can undertake off the critical path. As for the characters, publicity materials refer to them intriguingly as "digital actors" with new AI and dialogue systems. The visuals we've seen to date have been top-notch. |
