The staff over at GameSpy have also unveiled this compilation of "D&D Memories" - a series of recollections on bygone D&D adventures made by industry players...
It's undeniable that D&D has influenced the games industry in profound, far-reaching ways. Even the twitchiest action game, when you look beyond its veneer, is composed of game systems that, when traced, have their roots in the types of methodical mechanics you'd associate with pen and paper gaming. And the king of that, of course, is D&D. To make the associate more intimate, however, we spoke to our friends and colleagues in the games industry and asked them to share with us their individual memories about the game and how it served to influence them and their work. Some were sincere while some were silly, but in the end, the truth is undeniable: D&D owns a large portion of our collective mind as an industry, and given how much the game is continuing to grow and evolve, it doesn't look like it's going to slacken its grasp anytime soon.
