This is a title I am personally looking forward to, since the first part was quite some fun and showed promise: Gamespy has written an E3 preview of Sea Dogs 2. This title was very visible at E3, and Bethesda seems to put great hope in it. Anyhow, here's a bit from the preview:
Many piracy simulations simplify or entirely ignore the action that can happen in town, but Sea Dogs II renders it with as much care as the great ships the game centers around. Each of the many towns is hand-crafted and unique, with a great deal of terrain to explore on foot. Every village reflected the nationality of its builders, and varied from small groups of huts to large towns with impressive stone monasteries and sprawling governor's mansions. Guards, merchants, craftsmen, and others strolled about the busy streets -- you could talk to any of them to see if they had work for you. Stepping outside of town gave you access to the jungles beyond, which were dense with foliage and crisscrossed with meandering paths. The island we saw in the demo even had a small waterfall kicking up a misty spray as it tumbled down the rocks. |
