There's more accolades for EQ: Champions of Norrath with Next Level Gaming awarding a score of 90% in their review:
Wecome to Champions of Norrath. Just when you thought it was just going to be another Everquest game.......well not quite. Champions is an Action RPG like none other on the PlayStation 2. Create your own champion, each with unique powers, appearances and skills. Experience an epic adventure filled with powerful action and ominous intrigue. Battle vicious monsters where your mastery of weaponry and spells is the only thing between you and supreme evil. Yes, all that has been done. But wait, there's more! You see this game is a product of Sony Online Entertainment.....online. Champions is the first ever console action RPG for the Playstation 2. It is one of the reasons that I have all but stopped playing Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II. What's funny is that Champions was developed by Snowblind Studios, who developed the first Dark Alliance, and who has sold their game engine to other companies to create similar action RPG's. And yet this is the only one that is online. That gives this game the definite advantage over everyone else. And it doesn't hurt that the game is backed up by the same quality story and gameplay that Sony Online Entertainment is known for.
