In a double-announcement, 2K Games has announced they have acquired the publishing rights for future Dungeon Siege titles as well as revealing the Dungeon Siege II: Broken World expansion for PC and a PSP game titled Dungeon Siege: Throne of Agony. Here's a snip courtesy of Worthplaying: "The Dungeon Siege series has always been known for its beautiful graphics and great single and multiplayer gameplay," said Christoph Hartmann, Managing Director at 2K Games.
"2K Games is fully committed to expanding the franchise on PC and new platforms like the PSP system."
Dungeon Siege II: Broken World picks up right where Dungeon Siege II left off with an all-new campaign mode, a new playable race, more items to discover and a brand new multi-class character development system. Dungeon Siege II: Broken World will require the full version of Dungeon Siege II.
"We're excited to be working with 2K Games," said Chris Taylor, Founder and Creative Director of Gas Powered Games. "We're expanding the Dungeon Siege universe on the PC with a new campaign and opening up even more new territory on the PSP system with a second, unique adventure that you can stuff in your backpack and take with you wherever you go."
Dungeon Siege: Throne of Agony for the PSP system, in development at SuperVillain Studios, is another entirely new adventure created from the ground up specifically for the handheld system. Dungeon Siege: Throne of Agony features all-new playable characters and a freshly designed, non-linear, single-player campaign as well as support for Ad Hoc co-operative and competitive multiplayer games. |
