NWN Downunder has posted an interview that they conducted recently with Ferret Baudoin, lead developer for Neverwinter Nights 2. This interview focuses on crafting that will be available in the soon-to-be-released game:
NWNDU: We are all excited by the amount of detail the player characters have. NWN allowed changes to weapons and armour only, with the CEP adding the ability to modify shields and helms. What items will NWN2 allow us to customise?
Ferret: The weapon models still are made of component bits which can be mixed and matched. Tramell Isaac (our lead artist) was showing me some of the new longsword blades and hilts that were coming online and combining them… it’s very cool. You could do that in the original game, too (BioWare did a lot of really cool things in NWN1) but with the new generations of graphics cards weapons can look far better. We have a variety of shields and helms the player can choose from, but they can’t be mixed and matched like weapons. But the base armor types, like platemail, have many attachments the player can choose from – things like shoulder-guards, forearm pieces, etc. So choices galore.
