At the official site for Asheron's Call 2, a new article has been posted entitled "Vitae and Resurrection". It deals with death and the penalties in Turbine's currently released MMORPG:
Two of the most important statistics in Asheron's Call 2 are Health and Vigor. When your character runs out of Vigor, he’s fatigued. When he runs out of Health, he’s dead. Most new players don’t realize there’s a third statistic that affects both Health and Vigor. It’s called Vitae, and it’s important whenever your character deals with death and resurrection.
When your character dies, you’ll be prompted to click on a button to resurrect him. His old body will be left behind, and a new body will form next to the last Lifestone he attuned to (that is, the last Lifestone you double-clicked on). After your first death, your character’s Vitae score will be at 95 percent. That means he’ll have 95% of his maximum Health and Vigor.
Resurrection is only a temporary inconvenience—it’ll only be a matter of time until you’re up to 100% again. As you gain experience, your Vitae will creep back up to its maximum again. When your character’s Vitae has been reduced, look at the upper-left corner of the screen for a skull-and-crossbones icon. If your tooltips are turned on, placing your cursor over the icon will display a quick summary of your Vitae rating, including the rate at which your experience will refresh your Vitae. Clicking on the icon gives more detailed information in your Examine panel. When your Vitae rating is at 100%, the icon will show a heart instead. To read the rest, follow our link. |
