The AO Live Team has updated the official website of Funcom's MMORPG Anarchy Online with some talk about the forums:
Today’s topic will be our forums. We do see the need to make them work more as a source of useful information for the players than it is now, and are revising ways of doing it.
To be able to improve the forums we need to make a couple of changes. We do not want to moderate them extensively however, so we figured out a slight compromise.
We will be removing the ‘Announcement’ forum, and replacing it with a forum that will be more productive. It will be a forum where only our community representatives will be able to start new threads, and they will mostly consist of announcements as well as questions to the players, where you will be able to discuss the topics brought forth by the community representatives.
This forum will also be more heavily moderated in order to entice constructive arguments and generally be a place for us to step up our rate of providing you with useful comments and information.
We hope this will be appreciated and that you find we don’t want to censor our boards, but rather provide an easier alternative for our players to find official responses.
This is the first thread that will go up in the new forum: Go to the thread to offer your feedback!
Hi,
My main focus as Community Manager is to get more information out to the players of Anarchy Online, and its community in general. You should get more information about what the Anarchy Online team is working on, what we are planning and our reaction to your feedback.
The Community site and this bulletin board is an important way for us to give you information. I have started to review how it works for me and other active users of it. However, I would also like to know more about what changes that would make the Community site and bulletin more useful for you.
