I think UGO.com is the first site to review (!) Heroes of Might & Magic 4, (I don't thnik, looking at our database I know *g*), and in doing so they rated the game A+. Here's their very positive conclusion:
Overall, though, Heroes of Might & Magic IV is a magnificent turn-based strategy game in a time when they are finally starting to make a major comeback, with games like Civilization III and Disciples II: Dark Prophecy, and with Freedom Force and Age of Wonders II to come. No other fantasy turn-based game marries deep strategy and easy accessibility quite like Heroes of Might & Magic IV does in such a vibrant, colorful package, and, like Civilization III, the minor flaws don't mar the overall experience. And, like Civ III, Heroes of Might & Magic IV is in a class of its own.
