RPGDot Game Rating Machine

rfreed has rated the following games:

Beyond Divinity: 7/10 points

I still enjoyed it, but the magic of Divine Divinity was gone. This one was much more linear than the first. The ability to explore almost the entire Divine Divinity world before pursuing major quests was one thing I loved. Beyond Divinity does not have this.

Dungeon Siege: 7/10 points

Very linear and very little decision making as far as interaction with others in an RPG sense. However, the graphics are awesome and keep you wanting to move on to see the next dungeon or forest. Specalizing the characters with different attacks to see them improve is very satisfying and I truly enjoyed seeing the characters in the different combinations of weapons and armor as the game progressed and better goods were found. As far as an RPG, not very convincing, but as far as an enjoyable game to pass some time away from start to finish, it's better than average and recommendable.

Dungeon Siege: 9/10 points

A great game, though very linear.

Dungeon Siege 2: 10/10 points

Love it! Though it is a hack and slash game with some linearity.

Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna: 7/10 points

An okay expansion, but not enough new stuff.

Gothic 2: 9/10 points

I enjoyed the first one, but this one took it up a notch with the small, yet effective number of improvements made. I highly reccomend it.

Gothic 2 - Die Nacht des Raben: 9/10 points

Harbinger: 5/10 points

An average diversion. I did feel compelled to play through the entire thing to get to the next level, but was left unsatisfied when I came to the end. No real replay value and very little RPG elements. Economical, but avoidable. Not a total clunker, but there are many better games to try first.

Harbinger: 6/10 points

Slightly better than average.

Phantasie: 9/10 points

The first RPG I ever played on a PC (or better said, the Commodore 64 version and then the superior Atari ST version). I hope to one day get a hold of an ST and this game again just for the memory of it, though I know it would be very dated now. It's also the only game I have played so far that has let me have a Minotaur as one of my party.

Phantasie 3 - Wrath of Nikademus: 8/10 points

I played the Atari ST version, which was graphically superior to previous versions of the game. I also enjoyed the first one and the second one. I never finished this one, however, as I got stuck on a point and never figured out how to get past it (and I didn't have access to these forums like we do today). Still, I hope to find it someday in someway just to remember it. I played it in college so I guess I am dating myself somewhat.
