Computer and Video Games has published an Archangel interview with Bartosz Brzostek and Grzegorz Miechowski from Metropolis Software about their upcoming action/RPG hybrid. Here's a bit:
Could you tell us about how both the action and RPG elements will work in the game?

Miechowski: The fighting modes are very close to action games. The enemies see, hear and can act in groups. Defeating them consists of finding their weak points, in the use of suitable weapons, as well as in applying the hero's special abilities, which the player discovers in the course of the game. Agility and strategic approaching of the enemy are also vital for the player's success.

The most important RPG element is the development of the hero, which results directly from the story. Yet it is the player's decision as to how to develop the special skills which his hero discovers. Thanks to these the hero is able to defeat the enemy in different ways. In this way Archangel unites the two most important elements derived from the RPG and action games.
