Now that the Dungeon Siege 2 Patch V2.2 is out, I'm wondering how many of you (if any) seem to be experienceing more problems either installing the patch, or in playing the game after installing the patch?
Although an old friend of our, known throughout the DS community specifically (and throughout the modding community in general), who goes by the "moniker" of "Eccentricity" has set up one of the most ambitious DS2 modsites I had yet seen, I was hesitant to partake of the DS2 mods there at his Siege-Mods site until such time as patch 2.2 was released - being well aware that one of the primary purposes of this patch was to make DS2 more "mod-friendly".
To make a long story short - I successfully downloaded the patch, and then installed it to a "cleanly installed" DS2 - and that's when I started getting "Gathering Exception Data" errors each and every time I tried to start up the game. So, with "Eccentricity's" pointing the way, I headed on over to the Siege-Mods forums in the hopes of finding a solution by the upcoming weekend's end - as I truly wanted to try out some of the DS2 mods there.
In short - no sooner than I had posted my tale of woe on the forums, then I managed to catch the attention of the Moderator and very multi-talented young lady, "bare_elf", who patiently and completely gave me more than a few suggestions with which to remedy my dilemma. Needless to say, her knowledgeable suggestions worked, as I no longer have the problem.
Moral of the story?? If you are having problems uploading or installing patch 2.2, or having DS2 playing problems, or just need some help and/or advice re DS2 mods - then the friendly folks that roam the Siege-Mods forums may just very well be the answer you are looking for:-) |
