Next Level Gaming is the lastest site to review Snowblind's 'Champions: Return to Arms' for the PS2. The score is 78% and here's a clip:
And now a year later SOE returns with Champions: Return to Arms, the sequel as the Champions have been called up once again. And wouldn't you know it, the game is powered once again by the same development team at Snowblind Studios. And this has it's upside and downside. On the one hand, it was a solid engine to run this kind of game on, and Champions: RTA is definitely as good as the original game. And that's also the downside. With the exception of a little knick and knack here and there, the game is virtually the same as the original. No real enhancement in the graphics, and pretty much no enhancements in gameplay. As someone who put serious time (and I mean serious hourage) into Champions of Norrath, it took nothing to put this game in the PS2 and shoot through at least the first 5 character levels without even cracking the binding on the instruction manual. It's still a solid game for those of you who missed the first one. And let's be honest, it's still an online game, which means you can have fun with those same three adventurers on some new missions. So let's grab your swords and shields, buckle up the leather armor, and let's take a walk out into the portal of tranquility. Firiona Vie is waiting for us.
