A new Divine Divinity fansite opened at RPGPlanet, named World of Divinity. To celebrate they have 4 screenshots and an interview with Swen Vincke.WoD : One of the main things everyone is talking about is the level of interactivity within the game world, will this really have any influence on the gameplay or more for novelty value?
SV : A rather innocent question, but one with a fairly complex answer ;) First of all, the fact that you as a player know that you can interact with everything makes the world feel much more alive. It also gives players who like to explore their gaming environment something to really get their teeth in, as we made sure there’s really a lot of interaction. Additionally, if you choose to go the path of interacting with everything, you’re going to find tons of ways of improving your character, and a lot of extra things to do that increase your gaming experience. You can choose not to do all the interacting, and just hack and slash your way through the game, but then you’ll miss out on quite a lot. Still, there’s enough for you to do even then, as we tried very hard to make a game that will appeal to both Diablo and BG type of players. If the testers are any reference, I think we succeeded pretty well at that. |
