Formerly known as the Billboard Digital Entertainment Conference & Awards, DEMX recognizes technological innovation in games, music, film, television, and video. Of the four games nominated in the "multiplayer game of the year" category, three are MMORPGs: World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, and City of Villains. NCSoft is also in the running for "game innovation of the year" with Guild Wars, and Blizzard will be vying against Apple, Google, and Yahoo! for the title of "Best of Show: Brand of the Year" for growing its already mighty Warcraft brand beyond any industry expectations.
