Bard's Tale 3 - Thief of Fate: 6/10 points |
Long, long.. long...
Unfortunately very little was changed
from Bard's Tale 1, and very little changes
over the course of the game.
The mapping was the most intersting part for me by far. I think that says something.
All the same a decent game for the time. |
Phantasie: 5/10 points |
This turn-based RPG featured some new twists in its time but has aged poorly and even then was somewhat cumbersome in many ways (eg. item allocation). |
Temple of Apshai Trilogy: 6/10 points |
This game added locations and descriptions and a sense of D&D exploration and adventure, but featured a difficult and uninteresting combat and character system. |
Ultima 4 - Quest of the Avatar: 9/10 points |
Absolutely one of the most groundbreaking titles in the whole genre, and also one of the most fun. |
Ultima 8 - Pagan: 4/10 points |
Good way to ruin a franchise: Take a RPG and remove the signature NPC interaction and replace it with annoying badly-done jumping 'puzzles'. Grah! |
