Gracelessland has whipped up a review of Sid Meier's 'Pirates'.
Sid Meier has been making computer games for a long, long time. He’s one of those legends of the business like John Carmack, Will Wright, Peter Molyneux, and Richard Garriot, except Sid Meier is the Legend of Legends. He brought us “Civilization”, of course, and the original “Railroad Tycoon”, and plenty of others. You can tell a Sid Meier game just by seeing it on the screen. He has that individual style and vision that is instantly recognized and that stands out from the crowd. Seventeen years ago Mr. M and a once-great company called MicroProse released a game that revolutionized computer gaming. This was the original “Pirates!”, and the slightly modified follow-up “Pirates! Gold”. People have been playing it and talking about it ever since.
