1. Some Lighting...
Right, let's introduce some lighting. Might not be necessary with
your map but we might as well see how. Find a corner somewhere and
hit the Sun Symbol in the horizontal toolbar. The lighting Object
Page will now be visible. Preset light types are to the left of
this, and light properties are to the right. Select the Static Radio
button, and double click in the field directly below it. This will
open a colour choice table. Choose one you like. To the right, is
the light's 'range' value. Double click on this, and change it to
2000 or so.

To insert our light into the world, we right click in the view
window and choose Insert Light. You should see a yellow traingle
rather than your light at this stage - you need to recompile the
map's lighting. Feel free to scatter some more lights about before
you recompile. To compile, choose the World menu and Compile Light.
Select the Compile Lightmaps High option, and press go. And there
you have it. Static lighting, in whatever style you went for. Hopefully
your map is more interesting than this one...
