Every few minutes, you will earn one turn. You can direct your empire by "spending" these turns doing things such as building, exploring or fighting. Each new user is "protected" for a certain number of turns so that he/she may concentrate on developing an empire without worry of attack. During "protection", certain parts of the game interface are unavailable. Promisance employs two methods of fighting other empires... military might and magicians. Magicians cast spells using runes, and military forces must overcome the opposing might of other empires.
