RPG Vault has put up an interview about the character system in 'Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines' with Producer, Art Director and Troika Games Joint CEO Leonard Boyarsky.
Jonric: For readers unfamiliar with the World of Darkness, what kind of RPG system is it? What should they be aware of to understand the type of game you're creating with it? And what is The Masquerade?

Leonard Boyarsky: The World of Darkness, Vampire: The Masquerade system is a "rules light" system - its focus is on storytelling, not slavish adherence to a rule set. It's a point-based system that focuses on cumulative character development, where the way players distribute points shapes their character and what the character can and/or cannot accomplish. At its base, it's a point-based rather than a level-based RPG system.

The Masquerade is the attempt by the vampires to keep their existence hidden from mortals. The reason for this is that humans vastly outnumber vampires and would kill them all off if they actually found out that they do in fact exist.
