Final Fantasy X Review at Cloudchaser

A very positive review of Final Fantasy X can be found at Cloudchaser today. The score is 9.5/10, and this is what they offer as their conclusion:

And while I'm picking apart the plot and graphics of this incredible role-playing title, I might as well say a little something about the music as well. You see, for the first time since Chrono Trigger that I know of, Nobuo Uematsu has enlisted the help of other musicians and composers to help him craft the eighty-one track work that is the Final Fantasy X Original Soundtrack. Whether Junya Nakano and Masashi Hamauzu actually added to Nobuo's recent repertoire of composition is really up to each player's individual tastes. Personally, I found that their tracks heightened the whole score to a level it hasn't been to since Square's Super NES days. Score another for the 'Matsu. For some strange reason, I just can't seem to get whipped up into one of my usual verbal frenzies. Maybe Final Fantasy X's brief-yet-enjoyable story has caused my fifty-cent words to fail me. All I know for sure is that Square has a definite classic on their hands with Final Fantasy X and role-playing fans finally have their first genuine reason for owning a PlayStation 2.
