Jonquil Software's 'Spells of Gold' has been murdered in Jolt's review with some harsh prose and a score of 2/10:
We’ve seen some great games in the RPG mould over the years, especially from the likes of Bioware and SSI. We’ve seen some real mingers too, and those that sit in the middle, such as Beyond Divinity. But even the worst of the bunch stands head and shoulders above Spells of Gold. I’m at a loss to explain exactly how bad this game actually is.
